Despite the absence of vibrant
colors previously used on his past collections, Stephane Rolland’s S/S Couture
2013 delivered.
The impeccable forms with haute
craftsmanship, intricate details and exciting cuts made his spring/summer couture
a standout for it’s freshness.
Rolland dashed-out clean and sharp
silhouettes, volumes still dominated the runway yet managed not to
exaggerate. The sheer beauty of his perfectly tailored gowns made dramatic
elements with subtle show of skin.
The slim often tight –fit jersey
combined with second skin fabric ignited some sensuality yet maintained the
regal artforms with class. The kimono inspired tops whimsically float with soft
spike embellishment added, sometimes sculptured and texturized. The ornaments
were contemporary and artsy bringing out a well balanced accuracy to the
collection.
The presence of the great dame on the finale- statuesque Carmen Dell’Orefice, Rolland’s show stopper and muse was a wonderful sight to behold.
