Stylemonger: Ezra Santos Fashion Forward Season 2: "Incohesive" is the New Cohesive

Understated Chic, Quiet Elegance and Subtle Dressing.

Ezra Santos' divine femininity is an understatement, his COLLECTION doesn't scream for attention. At the opening of Fashion Forward Dubai in Madinat Jumeirah , Ezra Santos wielded an experimental approach on his bravest attempt to bring in myriad of collisions, obviously his new mantra brought bewilderment to his followers.

Maybe it was all about the fabrics ? from the demure laces, silks, satins and then the neoprenes, sort of a mood board that simply you can’t pin down?

Or maybe it was all about the cuts, from whimsical off- the- edge to red carpets- in- mind serpentine body huggers and bursting bias hemlines.

To the untrained eyes, the jarring colors in the catwalk singled incohesiveness but no, the non-conformity implied rebelliousness to the uniformed trend collections that appealed globally on the ramp...Ezra's adventurism paid off.

Many would debate that Ezra Santos designs and techniques are too ambiguous. But one can’t deny that Ezra sure knows how to put up a show, one where the focus is and only on the clothes.

Styled meticulously with exceptional detailing, he knows how to throw in just the right quantities of embroideries, accessories, stones , sequins, oomphs and drama to create the perfect amalgam.

Just when you feel like all the extravagance is an overkill, he toned it down by simply displaying uncluttered silhouettes without embellishments, and need I say it works every single second?

Ezra's manipulations of cutting and pattern techniques seem to be his charmer that opted for a deliberately mismatched art forms.

Carefully positioned, what looks like a design mistake is an interesting style detail incorporation that excites the visuals.

From off shoulders with exaggerated bows to slim fit jacket to dresses, he pushed the limits with a masterly approach to an ensemble which does not involve playing safe. The look played so well and seized every opportunity to display the best well defined collection of haute couture this season.

The shapes were in wild synthesis and every look offered something for our eyes to feast. He broke the stereotypes that concealed his designs, it looks like Ezra may be finally finding his own niche.

And while everyone expected a "usual" extension of an Ezra Santos signature silhouettes, what took everyone by surprise was a collection inspired by his Arabesque influences that he is at ease to the core... seamlessly translated into garments that were true to his style.
